This is a reblog from Inland West. I’ve been pretty excited about going through their pictures, and calling my wife over to look at them. Lots of shots of the American West, and the people there. The photographer has a great eye for including exactly what needs to be in a shot - check out the woman behind the nude image in “Estate Sale,” or the sky over the shot of Textless photographing a tarantula in a New Mexico wash.
This is more than just good composition, but an understanding of just what needs to be in an image to give it power.
Love the shot above - kind of like the best of an Eggleston, or Stephen Shore!
